On the occasion of the Day of the Republic of Srpska, a ceremonial parade was held today in East Novo Sarajevo.
The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik congratulated the citizens and participants of the Republic Day parade.
The President of the Republic of Srpska said that the Republic of Srpska is a republic of peace, gathering and freedom, which does not threaten anyone and does not wish harm on anyone.
“We are not a threat to anyone and we are not doing this out of spite. We just want to say that we are here, that we are ready to fight for our freedom”, said the President of the Republic.
The President Dodik said that the members of the Republic of Srpska Police are the ones responsible for our peaceful life, and that he is especially proud of them and grateful to them.
“The most significant and colossal part was given by the fighters of the Army of the Republic of Srpska, our proud army that, together with the police, defended our homes in uncertain circumstances in which the war brought changes every day. Many remained on the sidelines of their country”, said the President of Srpska.
The President of the Republic of Srpska said that the Serb people were never Bosnian-Serbian, but rather Serbs who have the right to their democratic expression and gatherings.
“We allow that right to others. We stayed in Bosnia and Herzegovina because we had to, because the Dayton Agreement, as the only possible act of that time, ensured not only peace but also established a new political system in which Srpska is the most important factor”, said the President of the Republic.
The President Dodik added that the Serb people want freedom and life in this republic, and that they are not asking for anything from anyone.
“We want Bosniaks to live in peace and develop, we do not want to stop any of their investments, but we will not allow them to stop our development. Do something about it and try to get used to the Republic of Srpska community of peace, dignity, prosperity and development”, it was emphasized by the President of Srpska.
The President of the Republic of Srpska said that Serbs are dedicated to the Republic and respect other people’s values, but they demand their identity to be respected.
“These days, we hear how they want to name Tvrtko who was the Serbian ruler in this region, who was really great, to be theirs, but he is undoubtedly a Serb and cannot be the forerunner of what they are saying. He wrote a poem about Saint Stephen, and that is why I am proud, not only of that period, but of our history, which is a suffering one, which has many victims behind it, but which is the history of the freedom of this nation, and that is why no one can discontinue that idea”, it was pointed out by the President of the Republic.
The President Dodik said that the people of Srpska love Republic of Srpska and Serbia.
“We are determined to stay here. Our love for Serbia is natural and normal. Only for those who come from far away and try to tell us that we should love something else – we say that we love Republic of Srpska and Serbia”, said the President of Srpska.
The President of the Republic of Srpska thanked all the participants of the ceremonial parade, as well as the media who can testify that this is a manifestation of unity, a presentation of youth, but also a display of the determined character of the Serb people to fight and that they are ready to fight for freedom on the territory of the Republic of Srpska.
The President of the Republic added that the Police of the Republic of Srpska will not take a step into someone else’s territory, but they will not allow anyone to do anything on the territory of Srpska to the detriment of its people.
“I would like to send a message that we gather around the Republic of Srpska, without it there is no freedom, no development and no survival in these areas. No Serb, no Serbian politician or leader must ever allow any other form of organisation than the Serbian national state in these areas, which is called the Republic of Srpska and Serbia with which we have the right to be integrated, connected in accordance with international law. Long live Serbia, long live the Republic of Srpska, long live the Serbian people”, said the President Dodik.
