Ceremonial Academy on the occasion of the Day of the Republic of Srpska
On the occasion of the Day of the Republic of Srpska and the 31st anniversary of its existence, a formal academy was held tonight in the “Borik” Sports Hall.
The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik said that the Serb people declared the Republic of Srpska in peace, without a single human sacrifice, and that at that moment it had no other choice if it wanted to survive in these areas.
“Not a single shot was heard during the formation of the Republic of Srpska. We offered various approaches to preserve peace, and some said they were ready to sacrifice peace for BiH. If the Serbs wanted Bosnia and Herzegovina then, now there would be a small percentage of Serbs here”, said the President of the Republic.
The President of Srpska added that there are now few Serbs in the Federation of BiH and that even those few have survived thanks to Srpska and Serbia.
“They tell us that we cannot celebrate the Day of the Republic on January 9th. There is no nation in the world that some court determines when its state was created, and neither will we have it here. We know when we formed it”, said the President Dodik.
The President of the Republic pointed out that Serbs and Srpska have never and do not want to insult anyone.
“ I extend my congratulations on the Day of the Republic of Srpska – January 9th, the day when we proudly made the difficult, and I would say at the time, uncertain decision on the formation of Srpska”, it was emphasized by the President of Srpska.
The President Dodik added that he was proud to be part of those who made the decision to form Srpska, when everyone was united regardless of political party and ideology.
“I am proud of the generation of politicians that created the Republic of Srpska. The same ones who turned their political choices into a personal and family tragedy, who were ready for the idea of freedom for the Republic of Srpska and accepted the role of martyrs in various worldwide prisons are still incarcerated today, just because some wanted to tell us here that they were not right. The people of the Republic of Srpska never blame them and know that if it was not for that generation, people would not have our freedom here”, said the President of the Republic.
The President of Srpska pointed out that he was proud of the history of the Serbs, that he was not happy since it is a suffering country, and that the propaganda carried out through the media can lead the young generation astray, which is why the only way to live in these areas is to return and look for the origin in our history and suffering.
The President Dodik added that the fact that in 1918, when it was natural to create a large state on the territory of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dalmatia and Montenegro, also speaks of the greatness of the Serb people, who decided to give freedom to others who left the common country at the end of that century claiming that it is the Serbs who are the biggest criminals and who should be sanctified through various forms and means.
The President of the Republic reminded that during the Turkish occupation, the Serbs started 140 uprisings in the territory of the current Republic of Srpska, and that the Serbs never stopped fighting for freedom.
“We love the Republic of Srpska because we are the Republic. The Republic that admires and loves Serbia. What is more normal than loving your people? We are not Bosnian Serbs, and you constantly qualify us as such, and when we say something to some people, they get angry”, said the President of Srpska.
The President Dodik said that the politicians elected by the people must use this period and unite the Serb people and say what they want in the coming decades.
“Why can other nations have one state, but the Serbs cannot?”, asked the President of the Republic of Srpska.
The President of the Republic added that he was convinced that the strength of Srpska and Serbia is greater than ever, and that the strength of a people is determined by the will of that people to live and stay here.
“The world has changed and the world to come will be different. In this new world, we must be one, unique, because that is the only way for the Serbs as a nation to get through these difficult and future complex times”, it was emphasized by the President of Srpska.
The President Dodik reiterated that the Serbs had a difficult history of suffering, that Jasenovac is an open living wound of the Serb people, where more than 500,000 Serbs were killed, in which more than 40,000 children were kept in the camp, and that according to the Ustasha ideology, one third were crucified, killed and displaced.
“The only misconception that, as a representative of the people, I do not want to sow to this people is that it is possible for us to live more in multi-ethnic states where the Serbs were always ready for complete destruction or disappearance. We want our country. Why can’t we say that?”, said the President of the Republic.
The President of Srpska emphasized that the Republic of Srpska was formed on January 9th, 1992 to be an independent state, and not to be in anyone’s part.
“I believe in the Republic of Srpska. I will not give the Republic of Srpska, our identity, freedom and I will not allow anyone to oppress and humiliate us. Long live the Republic of Srpska, Serbia and the Serb people wherever they are. Long live January 9th and our freedom”, it was concluded by the President of the Republic of Srpska.
