The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik attended today in Banja Luka the ceremonial academy on the occasion of commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Veterans Organisation of the Republic of Srpska.
On that occasion, the President of the Republic of Srpska pointed out that it is a great honor to be a fighter and that it is highly valued by the Serb people, who are obliged to talk about their heroes from the last Patriotic War.
The President Dodik stated that the Serbs must know that they can only count on their own forces, and that the Serb people are the only ones with state capacity in these areas.
“As a nation, we must not be silent about our heroes, and reject them just because they do not answer to others and because they are lying in some penitentiary”, said the President of Srpska.
The President of the Republic expressed his satisfaction that, due to the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Srpska and the administration of this city, Banja Luka will soon receive a central memorial.
“We have the necessary permits, funds provided by the Government and the City, and the construction of this landmark will begin very soon in one of the most exclusive places in the city near the City Administration”, said the President Dodik.
The President of Srpska pointed out that the fight for the Republic of Srpska was difficult, as it is today, and that Srpska is a great historical gain.
“It is our eternal duty not only to pay tribute to those people, but to be eternally grateful to them for being the forerunners of the heroic struggle during the period of the Defensive and Patriotic War”, it was emphasized by the President of the Republic.
According to the President Dodik, some belittle the Republic of Srpska and try to impose many negative things on it.
“However, our view is that this Republic was created for us and for our freedom. With the Republic of Srpska, the Serb people are returning to their identity and rebuilding their history, which was interrupted several times”, said the President of Srpska.
