At the initiative of the President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović, the first session of the Organisational Committee for holding a commemoration and paying tribute to the victims of the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) crime-genocide committed in the concentration camp Jasenovac and in its largest execution site Donja Gradina was held.
At the meeting, the Chair and Deputy-Chairs of the Organisational Committee were elected, members of the Executive Board were appointed, and the framework programme of commemoration and tribute to the victims of the crime-genocide was defined.
The Organisational Committee for holding a commemoration and paying tribute to the victims of the Independent State of Croatia in the concentration camp Jasenovac and Donja Gradina determined the date of the central event – May 5, 2019, and the day before, on May 4, 2019 in Kozarska Dubica, an academy dedicated to all Jasenovac victims will be held.
The Organisational Committee called on the people of the Republic of Srpska to attend the Remembrance Day honouring the victims of the Ustasha Second World War crime-genocide in Donja Gradina.
