Enes Suljkanović was born on 05 May 1961 in Pridjel Gornji, the municipality of Doboj.

He finished the high school in Doboj in 1979 and graduated from the Faculty of Technology in Tuzla in 1986. With the acquired degree, he was employed in the lime factory in Doboj on technical control until 1992 or until the outbreak of war. During the war, more precisely from 1992 to 01.01.1995, he was a member of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina. After the end of the war he was employed in the Secondary School Centre in Tešanj as the professional courses professor and performed these duties until 2003 when he was elected as the Director of the Housing Collective “Neimar” in Sevarlije, the municipality of Doboj. On 23 August 2005, he was elected to the position of the President of the Municipal Assembly of Doboj and performs the same function today, in the second term. In the last four years, he has served as the Chairman of the Executive Board of the International Handball Tournament in Doboj, as well as the President of a forum for the safety of citizens in Doboj. He participated in the formation of the Local Action Group “LAG”, was the only one in Bosnia and Herzegovina and which frame crossed entity boundaries. He is the current Chairman of the Steering Board of the referred Local Action Group, and performs the same function from establishing and participates and gives considerable support to the implementation of many projects in infrastructure and tourism, and fostering cultural and historical tradition.

In the general elections held on 3 October 2010, he was elected as the Vice President of the Republic of Srpska from the Bosniak people. The inauguration of the newly elected Vice President of the Republic of Srpska was held on 15 November 2010.

He has received numerous honours and awards such as the award of the plaque of the municipality of Doboj for 2008, which was awarded for his outstanding contribution to the development of the municipality as well as providing aid to the local population and returnees and creating a favorable inter-ethnic environment. He also won awards granted by the Sports Federation in Doboj in 2008 as an exceptional and meritorious sports official.

He is married and has two children.
