The President of the Republic of Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, sent a telegram of condolence to the Krajišnik family and the Association “Creators of the Republic of Srpska” over the death of Momčilo Krajišnik, the first President of the Republic of Srpska National Assembly.
“I received with sorrow the sad news of the passing of Momčilo Krajišnik, who, unfortunately, lost the battle against the vicious virus.
“Momčilo Krajišnik will be remembered as a man who had the courage and vision to make, together with others, difficult and historical decisions in the most difficult moments for the Serbian people, which meant the survival of our people in BiH.
“By establishing the Assembly of the Serb People in BiH, which later became the National Assembly, Momčilo Krajišnik, together with the deputies of the first convocation of the Parliament, created history of the Republic of Srpska, for which the Republic of Srpska and the Serb people will be eternally grateful.
“Dear Krajišnik family, sympathising with your pain and loss, on behalf of the citizens of the Republika Srpska and on my own behalf, I wish to express my deepest condolences,” reads the telegram of condolence of President Cvijanović.
