Republic of Srpska President Sends Condolences Telegram over Death of Retired Bishop Atanasije of Zahumlje, Herzegovina and the Littoral

The President of the Republic of Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, sent a telegram of condolences over the death of retired Bishop Atanasije of Zahumlje, Herzegovina and the Littoral to the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, the Diocese of Zahumlje, Herzegovina and the Littoral, to the clergy, monasticism and believers of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

“With sadness and grief I received the news of the passing away of retired Bishop Atanasije of Zahumlje, Herzegovina and the Littoral.

“Retired Bishop Atanasije left an indelible mark on the believers in Herzegovina and inspired many young people with his example and showed them the path of theology studies and encouraged them to enter the ranks of priesthood and monastic life.

“On behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Srpska and on my own behalf, I convey to you my deepest condolences,” reads the telegram of the President of the Republic of Srpska.
