The President of the Republic of Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, received today in Banja Luka the Ambassador of Japan to BiH, Makoto Ito, for an inaugural meeting.
The President of the Republic informed the Ambassador of Japan about the current epidemiological situation, the vaccination plan against the coronavirus, and other current political and economic matters.
President Cvijanović expressed satisfaction with the fact that the Republic of Srpska is able to organise the process of immunisation of the population, and that there is continuity in the procurement of vaccines in accordance with the needs.
The meeting emphasized the interest of the Republic of Srpska in improving co- operation in various areas such as the economy, environmental protection, tourism, culture and education.
At the occasion, President Cvijanović thanked Japan for the help and support in the implementation of a number of projects in the field of healthcare and education, as well as the implementation of numerous other projects aimed at improving the living and working conditions in the Republic of Srpska.
The President of the Republic welcomed the newly appointed Ambassador of Japan and wished him a successful term in office.
