The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović presented the keys of a new van for the transport of pupils and teachers of the elementary school “Rade Marijanac” from Strojice in Pljeva near Šipovo today.
The President Cvijanović said she was glad that funds for a new van worth 50,000 BAM were allocated from the budget of the President and assessed that the vehicle would be of a great use.
“The goal is for children to reach the school safely and for parents to be less worried”, said the President of the Republic.
During the visit to Šipovo, the President Cvijanović attended the laying of the cornerstone for the construction of the sports camp “Stevan Marković” at the site of Topola.
During the laying of the cornerstone, the President Cvijanović said that the goal is this this camp, which is named after a prominent sportsman, a policeman and a Serbian fighter, works for the benefit of athletes and youth.
About 200,000 BAM will be invested in this camp based on the previous donation of the Government of Serbia.
In her address, the President of the Republic stated that she would always support positive ideas like this one with the aim of making the camp one of the republic’s priorities and serving sportsmen and youth to achieve better results.
“I am proud of this camp and the goal is to recompense people like Stevan Marković who obligated us and gave their lives for Srpska. It is also important to keep people in Šipovo and all other towns and places in Srpska”, said the President of Srpska adding that the beginning of the sports camp project implementation is a continuation of the implementation of the projects by the republican authorities and local communities.
“Institutions and the Government of Srpska have invested about 35 million BAM so far in the municipality of Šipovo and last year the amount of 650,000 BAM was invested into the local road infrastructure. I am grateful to the leadership of Serbia for their donor funds which were allocated to our initiative”, said the President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic emphasized that the institutions of Srpska will support the further development of the camp since the goal is for the camp to be in use and to serve to the benefit of athletes.
“We have regional potential and tradition in the field of martial arts and rafting. There will be other good projects implemented, such as school projects and projects in the field of road communications”, said the President Cvijanović.
Previously, during her visit to Šipovo, the President of the Republic of Srpska together with the Mayor of this municipality greeted the rafters who participated in the “Pliva Regatta” which was organised within the “Days of Šipovo”.
