The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović met today at the Palace of the Republic with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković, the Serb Member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik and the Chairman of the Council of Ministers Zoran Tegeltija.
The President of the Republic of Srpska said that globally, the economy would suffer a great deal of damage due to the corona virus and announced that Srpska would take a set of measures, including the establishment of a fund to assist the economy in Srpska.
“This will entail the mobilisation of certain funds raised from domestic sources and international financial organizations”, said the President Cvijanović.
The President of Srpska told citizens and business subjects that the institutions would stay with them, and that they knew that many were already suffering damage.
“There will be a moratorium on credit payments, both for the citizens and businesses. Our families should not be afraid if they are unable to fulfill this obligation”, said the President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic emphasized that in the new situation, the competent institutions reacted in a timely manner, especially health institutions.
The President Cvijanović said that health care institutions also responded timely over the emergence of the corona virus, and stated that it would probably not be possible to organise school by the end of this semester.
“We always care whether we all adhere to certain instructions sufficiently. We need to understand that we are in an emergency situation and the crisis headquarters issues the greatest number of orders. We are also pleased with how the school project is being implemented online and the health centres have provided the necessary facilities and separated patients at risk from the regular viruses”, said the President of the Republic.
The President of the Republic of Srpska noted that the activity of setting up a tent at the border crossings has begun, which will be a significant contribution to solving the problem.
“The Armed Forces are on the ground and it will be a challenge how to organise life within these settlements, but the authorities, together with the local communities, will do so as prescribed. We also expect the involvement of health services, the Civil Protection, local communities and the Ministry of the Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska”, said the President Cvijanović.
According to the President of the Republic of Srpska, the Government of Srpska has defined a set of measures that were agreed with the business community.
“The emergency situation provides a number of opportunities for the crisis headquarters to act, and we can say that most citizens deserve to be praised because they take the problem seriously. Unfortunately, there are those who are not responsible, they can harm everyone and that is why we need to tighten up our penal policy. This is not the last crisis we face, but it is a great test for all of us. I am sure that we will come out of the crisis and that is why we are preparing to intervene in the best possible way”, said the President of Srpska.
