President of the Republic of Srpska extends congratulations on May 1, the International Labor Day

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović extended congratulations on May 1, the International Labor Day to all citizens, workers and trade unions in the Republic of Srpska.

“On the occasion of May 1, the International Labor Day, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all citizens, workers and trade unions in the Republic of Srpska.

On the occasion of the International Labor Day, which is a symbol of fight for workers’ rights, social justice and solidarity, we are proud to recall all those who have fought for a more equitable treatment of workers, and we thank those who advocate the advancement of the general standard of workers through quality social dialogue today.

This year, May 1, we mark in different circumstances and I extend special recognition and support to the workers in the Republic of Srpska, who perform the most challenging tasks in the fight against the pandemic caused by the Coronavirus, and I take this opportunity, once again, to appeal to the citizens to comply with all official recommendations and preventive measures aiming to get out of the health and economic crisis with as few consequences as possible.

The institutions of the Republic of Srpska are firmly committed to continue supporting the economy and protecting workers so that, together with our social partners and after our fight to preserve health and life, we can remedy the damage to the economy and jointly protect every worker and his workplace.

Believing that in the coming period we will continue with the planned development path and that we will witness the creation of new jobs and the growth of the number of employees, as well as the improvement of the living standards of all citizens in the Republic of Srpska, once again, I extend congratulations to you on May 1, the International Labor Day and I warmly greet you”, reads the congratulations note by the President of the Republic of Srpska.
