The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović attended today the presentation of the reconstruction project of the Republic of Srpska Museum of Contemporary Art building in Banja Luka.
The President of the Republic of Srpska, who was the Prime Minister of Srpska at the time when the Government agreed to co-finance this project, said it was a major undertaking.
“The Republic of Srpska Government has allocated two-thirds of the fund and the United States allocated one-third of the fund through the Ambassador`s Fund. This is a major undertaking that will help the Museum of Contemporary Art fulfill its purpose and vision in a better way”, said the President Cvijanović.
According to the President of Srpska, this project will mean a lot to Banja Luka and will contribute to cultural activities that cover the entire Srpska.
“Last year, we allocated significant funds for the reconstruction of the cultural objects across the Republic. About two million BAM was allocated to Banja Luka and we supported everything that the cultural institutions delegated as projects or needs. We will continue to work, and this makes impetus to other things”, said the President Cvijanović.
The President of the Republic of Srpska thanked the US Embassy for the joint venture, stating that culture is the field where you can cooperate in the easiest way.
“I am happy because together we can leave something valuable behind us. This is a way to preserve the link between the past and the future”, said the President Cvijanović.
