Republic of Srpska President Speaks with Head of EU Delegation to BiH and Members of Working Party on Western Balkans Region
The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović spoke today with the Head of the European Union Delegation to BiH Lars-Gunnar Wigemark and members of the Working Party on the Western Balkans Region (COWEB) on the current political and economic situation in the Republic of Srpska and BiH.
It was noted at the meeting that it is necessary to form a new Council of Ministers, as well as authorities at all levels in the shortest possible time in order to create adequate conditions for the unimpeded resolution of demanding tasks that BiH and its entities will face in the process of EU integration.
At the occasion, President Cvijanović observed that the Republic of Srpska is fully committed to the European path, and stressed that this process must be conducted in accordance with the rules of the co-ordination mechanism, as well as with full respect for the constitutional position and competences of the Republic of Srpska institutions.
At the meeting, President Cvijanović underlined the importance of undertaking harmonised and synchronised activities by all competent institutions in BiH, both in the domain of European integration and in the implementation of reform processes, and added that this is the only way to achieve efficient progress and create better conditions for the operation of business entities, thus improving the living standard of all citizens.
